2025 Update

These are a few of my new paintings, painted in 2025. I have been painting directly onto the canvas rather than adding texture so there have been interesting new challenges, but at the same time, this has led to some changes in my style that may appeal to people who prefer a smoother finish. I have also been concentrating on smaller, affordable pieces. Below, are some larger photos of my new work. If you would like information on sizes, you are welcome to contact me at susanhaypaintings@gmail.com.

I’m looking forward to having you visit me and my guest, Brad Millman at Studio B on the Haliburton Studio Tour, the 4th/5th and the 11th/12th of October. You can access a digital brochure here: https://www.thestudiotour.ca

The 2 paintings below are painted on a textured ground.

2022 Update

This past year I have been experimenting with some new styles and techniques. I haven’t settled on any one style but the pandemic has given me some creative freedom. Below are some examples of work completed over the past year.

Other new work can be found in the Haliburton Portfolio. Several of these are of the breathtaking shoreline of Centre Lake, a small undeveloped lake in Highlands East Township of Haliburton County. It has been in the local news over the past year as there is development proposed for it that will change its pristine, serene nature forever. My hope is that the development will be rejected as wilderness spaces that are accessible to the public are increasingly rare.
